These racks are made from strong and sturdy materials like steel or aluminum, and each one features a special hitch design that fits most bikes.

Enthuze offers a selection of four types of bike racks for sale. Let’s take a look at the differences between each style of bike rack to help you make the right choice.

Enthuze 2 Bike Rack Trunk Mount

This is a universal fitment bike rack for cars that mounts on the trunk. It features a lightweight and rustproof aluminum frame with injection-molded cradles to protect bike frames. Hook and loop straps hold your bikes in place while you drive. This frame can hold two bikes with up to 70 pounds capacity.

Trunk mount bike racks are the simplest and most inexpensive way to carry bikes on your vehicle, and ours are no exception with the price point being under $100. Trunk mount bike racks have the following pros:

• Inexpensive
• Easy to remove and store can even be stored in the trunk
• Can generally be moved from one vehicle to another with little adjustment
• A great option for a rental car bike rack

There are a few things to take into consideration for buying a trunk mount bike rack. If your vehicle has a spoiler, the trunk mount may not fit correctly. In that case, you should consider one of our other bike racks. If you need to carry more than two bikes, you'll also want to upgrade to one of our four-bike racks.

Enthuze 4 Bike Rack Folding Hitch Mount

This is our folding hitch mount bike rack, which fits on 1.25” and 2” receivers and features a sturdy steel frame. The arms conveniently fold down when the rack is not in use. The narrow arm design fits most bikes and the rack can tilt for trunk access. An anti-rattle hitch pin is included with this rack. Four bikes can fit on this rack with up to 120 pounds capacity.

Hitch mount bike racks can potentially fit on any vehicle with a hitch size mentioned in the above description. These bike racks have several pros, including:

• Loading and unloading is easier done at a lower height
• Vehicle can still easily access low clearance areas like parking garages (vs. a roof mount)
• Your roof rack (if you have one) then remains free for skis or other items
• Usually the second least expensive option

The hitch mount style of bike rack is very versatile and works for most vehicles as long as you have a hitch.

Enthuze 4 Bike Rack Platform Hitch Mount

This is another one of our four-bike racks with universal fitment. This rack accommodates most styles and sizes of bikes. The threaded shank prevents wobbling, and it tilts down for easy vehicle access. This rack fits tires up to 2.75” wide and has a maximum load capacity of 160 pounds. A 2” receiver is required.

Platform hitch mount bike racks also attach to your vehicle hitch, but are a bit different from folding hitch mounts with the following pros:

• Generally more heavy-duty
• The platform protects bikes by keeping them separated from each other and the ground
• Can accommodate virtually any type of bike

Platform mounts are similar to other hitch mounts in that they are easy to load and unload, and this particular one can carry four bikes. Platform mounts can be more challenging for hatchback vehicles, so you might want to consider our folding hitch mount if you have a hatchback.

Enthuze 2 Bike Rack Platform Hitch Mount

This is our two-bike version of the platform hitch mount. The bike carrier folds up when not in use, and it can hold up to 80 pounds. However, this rack does not fit tires wider than 2.75”. Size 1.25” or 2” receivers are necessary to install this rack.

The pros of this hitch mount rack are basically the same as the previous platform hitch mount rack, but this rack is somewhat less versatile due to being smaller. If you only need to carry two bikes though, it’s much less obtrusive and heavy than a four-bike rack.

How To Choose Your Bike Rack

The type of vehicle you have and the type of bike you have will both play a part in what type of bike rack you ultimately choose. If you have a passenger car without a hitch, then your best choice is probably the trunk mount bike rack. If you need to carry more than two bikes, then a hitch mount of either style is the best choice. Hitch mount racks are best suited for trucks and SUVs, but can also be used on passenger cars that have a hitch. All of our racks allow for improved rear access vs. some other types of bike racks.
